Sudakshina Mukherjee’s Atlanta Nritya Academy won third place in the Georgia regional competition of Dance USA Dance, earning a spot in the national competition. The team will be competing in front of the legendary choreography, Saroj Khan, for $6000 in cash prizes.
Sudakshina is trained in Bharatnatyam and Bollywood and teaches students of all ages. After participating in a recent workshop, the Academy presented a fusion, telling the story of Krishna through Bharatnatyam but to an English pop song. Saroj Khan pronounced it “beautiful,” and the Academy was chosen as a finalist to continue to the Nationals in New Jersey.
